What a stellar year for the Champlain Saint-Lambert Math Team! It has been an amazing school year so far for the Champlain Math Team in no small part thanks to Anton Iliashenko (1st year, Computer Science and Mathematics). Not only has Anton been the school winner of every single competition so far this year (he won the 1st prize at the 6th Annual Champlain in-House Contest last October), but he has been in the top 1.5% of all participating students in Canada and the top 1 student amongst participating students in Quebec at two important competitions: the Canadian Senior Mathematics Competition (CSMC, organized by the University of Waterloo) and the very prestigious Canadian Open Mathematics Challenge (COMC, organized by the Canadian Math Society). Due to his phenomenal result at the COMC, Anton has been invited to participate in the CMO Repêchage to qualify for the Canadian Mathematical Olympiad to be held on April 1, 2015. Several other Champlain students have shown very strong results, in particular Qun Tian Xiang and Victor Zhou (both 1st year, IB), as well as Li Xin Zhang (1st year, Health Science) and Ben Rejeb Ahmed (1st year, Computer Science & Math). At the CSMC, the scores of the best 5 students from each school are combined to form the official School Score. Through the results, our team has propelled Champlain Saint-Lambert to the top of all participating Quebec schools in the CSMC!
